To be eligible for a grant from the NPTA Fund, the following requisites apply:
- The applicant is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
- The applicant is not a school, part of a school system, education foundation or government entity.
- If the applicant is a house of worship, it must demonstrate that it operates a social service program that is open to the public and involves no religious activities.
- The offices of the nonprofit are located in Kent County.
- The organization serves primarily Kent County residents.
- The organization has been providing services for at least 2 years.
- The applicant’s annual operating budget is between $50,000 and $2 million.
- Organizations may exclude the value of in-kind donations from their total operating budget.
- Organizations may also exclude pass-through grant amounts if it can be demonstrated as such.
- The organization must not currently have a grant open with the Nonprofit Technical Assistance Fund.
- The applicant can demonstrate that grant funding will contribute to a higher, sustainable level of community service pursuant to its mission.
