Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for a grant from the NPTA Fund, the following requisites apply:

1. The applicant is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
   • The applicant is not a school, part of a school system, education foundation or government entity.
   • If the applicant is a house of worship, it must demonstrate that it operates a social service program that is open to the public and involves no religious activities.
2. The offices of the nonprofit are located in Kent County.
3. The organization serves primarily Kent County residents.
4. The organization has been providing services for at least 2 years.
5. The applicant’s annual operating budget is between $50,000 and $2 million.
   • Organizations may exclude the value of in-kind donations from their total operating budget.
   • Organizations may also exclude pass-through grant amounts if it can be demonstrated as such.
6. The organization must not currently have a grant open with the Nonprofit Technical Assistance Fund.
7. The applicant can demonstrate that grant funding will contribute to a higher, sustainable level of community service pursuant to its mission.
