Applying for Grants

If you have determined you are eligible and interested in applying for a grant to the Nonprofit Technical Assistance Fund, you can submit your application using Grant Central, the online grant portal of the Grand Rapids Community Foundation. Instructions are as follows:

  1. Click to visit the Grant Central Login page.
  2. Enter your existing Grant Central username and password if you currently have one registered with the Grand Rapids Community Foundation. If you need to register as a new user or reset a forgotten password, you can do so from the login page.
  3. Once logged in, you can edit your organization profile, edit your personal profile, view previous grant applications, edit pending progress reports and manage your password.
  4. To begin a new grant application, click the Apply Now button next to the Nonprofit Technical Assistance Fund option in the list of Current Grant Opportunities.
  5. The NPTA Fund utilizes the Marguerite Casey Foundation Organizational Capacity Assessment Tool to help applicants identify organizational strengths and challenges establish capacity building goals, and assist in evaluating the impact of our funded grants. The tool is a self assessment instrument and must be completed by the Executive Director, as well as multiple board and staff members.  To allow for time to complete this process, the assessment does not have to be complete before you submit your NPTA application. However, it must be completed within two weeks following the grant deadline.
