Funding to support nonprofit capacity building in Kent County, Michigan

Consultants

The NPTA Fund Consultant Directory serves as a premier resource for helping the West Michigan nonprofit community identify consultant support and technical assistance providers.

The new and improved directory provides a complete profile of consultant areas of expertise and services. We are seeking professionals with specific experience serving the unique needs of the nonprofit organizations. Service categories range from board development, strategic planning, and human resources to executive coaching, grantwriting and marketing. View the complete list here. It is our goal to provide the nonprofit community with accurate and comprehensive information to allow them to seek out the consultant who best fits their needs.

It is the expectation of the Kent County NPTA Fund that all consultants listed in the directory will:

  • Value a philosophy that supports the goal of helping nonprofits build their infrastructure and capacity
  • Agree on a scope of work, time frame and payment arrangement prior to accepting an assignment
  • Maintain professionalism and integrity at all times
  • Fairly and accurately represent their skills, services provided and areas of expertise
  • Maintain confidentiality during and after the client engagement
  • Identify and fully disclose potential conflicts of interest
  • Respectfully develop client relationships in a culturally-aware and competent manner

Application Requirements and Considerations:

    • All consultants must fully complete the online application.
    • References are required in each service category selected (maximum of 4). References will not be published in your directory listing, but will be contacted prior to approval of consultant profile. Consultants are expected to operate from a rich experience base serving the nonprofit community. Though there is not a minimum requirement for number of years in practice, consultants are required to present an established list of paid clients to be considered for entry into the directory. This client list will be published in your directory listing. This is subject to the discretion of the NPTA Fund staff and advisory committee.
    • A registration fee of $50 for one year or $75 for two year listing must be received prior to approval of consultant profile.
    • Upon completion of your online profile, checks should be made out to the Grand Rapids Community Foundation, with NPTA Fund Consultant Directory in the memo line and sent to: Attn: Kent County NPTA Fund, 829 Russwood Street NE Grand Rapids, MI 49505 or paid online at www.givegr.org/npta. Please note if you are not selected to be listed in the directory, your check will be returned. The NPTA Fund cannot guarantee a minimum number of referrals and engagements generated for the Directory. Once approved in the Directory, registration fees are non-refundable.
    • Listing in the directory should not be construed as an endorsement of consultants listed. The NPTA Fund reserves the right to add, change, or remove information from the Consultant Directory.
    • Nonprofit organizations planning to engage a consultant are always encouraged to seek and review consultant references. In order to apply to the NPTA Fund, nonprofits are required to seek two competitive bids before making a final selection.
    • When consultants are engaged for NPTA Fund projects, feedback will be solicited from both the consultant and client. This feedback will be noted and may be taken into consideration for future participation with the Consultant Directory and NPTA Fund.
    • If consultants are newly engaged by an organization as a part of the NPTA Fund process, they are not required to be listed in the directory. However, upon repeat engagement through the NPTA Fund, consultants will be asked to submit an application to the directory.

If you are interested in promoting your services to West Michigan nonprofit community, please begin the application process today by completing the registration form.
